Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah has said, her current aim as an actress is to grab international stages like Hollywood and not that of local roles.
According to her, she is now selective on the movies she does because she does not want to just star in any movie but movies with good stories.
“I just don’t want my face to be everywhere. I want to do something beneficial to the people that I am impacting, I would want to take what I am doing to a different level. I want to grow and move ahead” she said in an interview with Rainbow Radio.
She hinted of her desire to shoot in Hollywood hence her decision to build a brand that could get the opportunity to work in Hollywood considering the experience she has gathered working in Ghana, South Africa and Nigeria.
“With time, when you are growing in the industry, you want to do something different, you do not want to do the normal things you used to do in the past.” she added.
For the industry to rub shoulders with others in the world, governments, the media and all Ghanaians have a role to play.
According to Martha in recent interview with NEWS ONE, “We need people to invest in cinemas and our industry. When you go to Nigeria you see cinemas all over. They are for individual investors. Government has also pumped money into the movie industry in Nigeria but look at us. The TV stations are also part of the problem; showing foreign series. We need to regulate them.”
