I’m Glad NDC Is Out of Power – Mrs Rawlings
Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has expressed joy that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost in the 2016 elections.
The founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP) said that the NDC while in power lied to Ghanaians that the economy was stable, adding that the party should give current President Nana Addo and his government some time and space to fix the mess they created in 8 years.
Speaking on Joy FM, she said; “I am happy there is a change… I am very happy…because you can’t have a situation where we claim to be doing well, calling ourselves lower-middle income group, and in a miserable situation.”
According to her, the party has lost its value.
“We reached that level where the respect for the founder was not there,” she lamented.
Mrs Rawlings admitted leaving the NDC, founded by her husband Jerry John Rawlings to form the National Democratic Party (NDP) because she is somebody who believes honesty and hard work.”
“As things started changing I advised myself,” she revealed.
