A MEMBER of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit of National Security, Mohammed Sulemana has apologized to Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George for his actions.
Mr. Sulemana was testifying before the Justice Emile Short Commission on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Osu Castle in Accra.
According to him, the legislator hurled tribalistic invectives at him adding that, it made him respond with a slap.
However, he said he regrets his actions and further asked for forgiveness.
“I’m guilty and regret what I did. I won’t do that again. I know once it’s from my heart he’ll forgive me,” Sulemana told the Emile Short Commission.
He added: “I didn’t know Sam George. I didn’t know he was an MP. If I knew I wouldn’t have slapped him.”
However Executive Secretary to the commission, Dr. Kofi Ernest Abotsi yesterday disclosed in a statement stating that, the Commission will be a meeting with the press today.
The meeting according to information with the press would serve as a forum to answer important questions pertaining to the work of the commission.
The meeting, it said, would also be used to make known to the public the next line of activities for the commission after the public hearings.
