I’m Not Contesting for Ayawaso Chair – Charlotte Osei
Former chairperson for the electoral commission, Madam Charlotte Osei has refuted claims that she aspires to contest for the vacant Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat via the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party.
There have been some campaign posters of Mrs. Osei circulating on social media in which she described as a sham.
In a post on instagram she stated; “I am not and have never been a registered member of any political party in Ghana or anywhere in the world.”
The now-impeached EC Chair also said she was not a resident of Ayawaso West Wuogon which impedes her from contesting as an MP for the constituency.
“I have no interest whatsoever in running for parliament and have never had that interest. Please, find better use of your artistic talent than mischief making,” Mrs Osei posted on Wednesday, 12 December 2018.
The Ayawaso West Wuogon seat became vacant after Mr Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko died in November this year after an illness.
Following his death, some constituents have been campaigning for a successor.
