I’m single and searching for my own man – Auntie Bee

Ghanaian actress Auntie Bee born, Harriet Naa Akleh Okanteh has opened up about her experiences as a single woman actively searching for a meaningful relationship.

“I am not married, and I am single. I have no one in my life, but sometimes, when you open up about your love life and marital status during interviews, some people have the perception that you are desperately looking for a man. I’m not desperate, but when I get a man, I will think about it before deciding. If anyone is interested in me, I will get married” she disclosed in an interview on Kingdom FM.

Recounting the over six years love journey she shared with the late comic actor Bob Santo, she explained, “Santo was the leader of our group and I was engaged in an amorous sexual relationship with him. Even though other actors were interested they were scared because I was already dating their leader. I feared if I rejected his proposal I could be fired. We dated for 6 years. He was a very good person”.

“He already had two wives and revealed that to me and I understood him. I accepted the relationship for fear that I could be fired if I did otherwise. His wives knew I was Santo’s side chick and they were cool. We never had any grudge and I never verbally abused anyone of the two”, she disclosed.

Giving further details on what she knows killed Bob Santo who died about two decades ago, the experienced actress said, “He wasn’t well even before the trip. But he couldn’t opt out because it was a group performance. He was even hospitalized abroad until he returned back to Ghana and was hospitalized again for a month and two weeks. I was with him throughout when he was in the hospital. So where did the cocaine story come from?”
