Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold has apologized to the Bank of Ghana for what he terms as ‘bad’ initial comment from his end earlier in reaction to the press release by the Central Bank on stressing customers to desist from operating with the banking agency.
The Bank of Ghana recently warned the public against making money deposits with the gold-trading company and alleged the company’s operations are in contravention of banking regulations.
Even though MenzGold denied breaching any regulation, the matter still does not seem settled as there are reports that the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Nana Appiah Mensah, will appear before EOCO later in the week for questioning.
The latest twist to the matter are allegations from the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) that MenzGold does not even have licence to trade in gold as it has been revoked. This has, however, been denied by MenzGold.
But in a latest twitter message by the CEO, he revealed resolving issues on a good note with the central bank.
”Owing to the fallible nature of man, i sincerely apologise for my initial reaction to the Bank of Ghana press release. We’ve engaged & are cooperating with the BoG and other state agencies, to cordially resolve in the interest of our beloved Republic of Ghana.#GhanaShallProsper ” – the tweet reads.
According to Nana Appiah Mensah, he is deeply sorry for his earlier comments made in relation to treat by the Bank of Ghana.
Zylofon music signee Shatta Wale also called on the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to intervene and amicably settle the seeming scuffle between MenzGold Ghana Limited and the Bank of Ghana.
According to him, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly called NAM 1, has set the pace in his contribution to the development of Ghana, especially the showbiz industry.
Shatta Wale believes the contributions of Nana Appiah is exactly the king of “Change” the President promised Ghanaians on assuming office.
