The Acting Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Adomako Baafi, has rubbished claims that he had been relieved of his duties.
In an interview with host of “The Platform”, Nana Yaw Kese, on Peace FM, he disclosed that he had not received any letter relinquishing him of his duties, and stressed that he still operates as the party’s Communication Director at the Asylum down office.
Founder of Danquah Institute, Gabby Otchere Asare Darko is reported to have announced on social media that a new appointment had been made.
According to him, the party was facing challenges with its communication team, hence the need for a change.
“Congrats to Yaw Buabeng Asamoah for your appointment as the new Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party. Clearly there was a huge leadership vacuum in the ruling party’s communication machinery and we are all happy to hear that Chairman Blay, and General John Boadu have acted accordingly”, he wrote.
Meanwhile the acting General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, has denied appointing Yaw Buabeng Asamoah as the Communication Director.
“The National Executive Committee is responsible for appointing directors of our party, and it is my duty to issue a statement after the appointment had been made. But there has not been any appointment as I am talking to you now,” he explained
He indicated that the party has a procedure in appointing directors and stressed that they would appoint a substantive Communication Director when the need arose.
“Very soon the National Executive Committee, through the National Steering Committee, will meet and address this issue. We will also punish those behind the false communique,” he disclosed.
