New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag-bearer hopeful, Kennedy, has likened himself to the David in the Bible indicating that he has been ordained to rescue Ghana from its current quagmire.
The Assin Central lawmaker quoting portions of the First Book of Samuel 16-31 to justify why he is the Savior said “God told Samuel that he had chosen a new king for Israel. The new king was to be one of the sons of Jesse. When Samuel saw the sons he thought the Lord would want Jesse’s oldest son to be the king. Instead, the Lord chose the youngest son, David, who was out tending the sheep.
Samuel anointed David as the new king but it would be many years before the time was right for David to take Saul’s place. The Lord chose David even though he did not look as big and handsome as his older brothers. The Lord does not judge by outward appearance but by the heart”
Addressing a mammoth crowd at his maiden Show Down Walk, held in Accra over the weekend, Kennedy Agyapong indicated that Ghana is at the crossroads and he is the one ordained by God to salvage the situation.
“Where there is no hope, there is life there. NPP and Ghanaians where we have reached, Kennedy Agyapong is your David. Brave David fought with wild animals that attempted devouring his flock reason he was chosen as King of Israel. Today there is only one brave person in the NPP and he is the man who is destined to lead this country. He is Honourable Kennedy Agyapong”, he disclosed.
Kennedy Agyapong is one of the four people including Dr. MahamuduBawumia, Dr. OwusuAfriyieAkoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh to contest in the party’s delegates congress on November 4, 2023 after the August 26 polls where he came second.
At the balloting last week, he picked number one and said it was an indication of his victory.
“It is clear that I am the person God has chosen to lead the NPP. If you believe in the Bible… because everywhere I go, Kennedy Agyapong is number one. It is a clear indication that I should be given a chance to lead this country.”
He highlighted that he drew the number one spot in the super delegates’ election and has once again drawn number one in the upcoming party congress.
These occurrences, he believes, offer undeniable proof of his presidential destiny.
“The signs are clearly on the wall that if you vote for Kennedy Agyapong, he will definitely lead this country and break the eight.”
