Innovation Is Very Key To Consistency – Samini
Arguably one of the most consistent acts in the Ghanaian music scene, Emmanuel Andrews Samini, has advised students of the University of Ghana Dance and Theatre Arts departments to be very innovative if they want to stay consistent and relevant in the entertainment industry.
Samini was the main speaker of a Masterclass organized by the Dance department of the University in collaboration with Africa 1 Media as part the Raggae/Dancehall artiste’s week-long program dubbed Saminifest. He was speaking under the theme, “Consistency, The Surest Way To Longevity In The Arts”.
In his speech, Samini made mention that a Creative artist who is not innovative may miss out along the line in the industry. He believes that with innovation, one can be able to keep up to speed with the currents in and around one’s field in order not to miss out. He further stated that Innovation can keep at the top level for a very long time as always makes you a competitor.
”One last thing I would like to add is that, as an artiste you must be innovative. Innovation will help you to keep up to speed with the current trends in the industry so you won’t miss out. Social media platforms like Youtube, Twitter, Facebook and co have really helped me be here ahead of those I started with back in the 2000s”. – He said
Saminifest climaxed his one week program last night with a big concert at the Osu Oxford Street dubbed Saminifest, the same day his album, Untamed was be released. Samini has been consistent in the Ghanaian music industry for over two decades from time of his Linda single as Batman. He has since released back to back hits such as Linda, Odwo, Movement, Sweet Mistake, and many more.
