Inusah Fuseini Replies Bawumia On 85 Major Achievements
The progress and better sustainability of all Ghanaians should be your major priority and not listing of any 85 unrealistic achievements, Inusah Fuseini, former Member of Parliament for the Tamale Central constituency and told Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
His response comes barely 24 hours after Bawumia in a Facebook post indicated that, the 85 major achievements came despite inheriting an economy in crisis from former President Mahama’s administration is 2016.
Among the achievements, he notes are the implementation of Free Senior High School and Free TVET education, the exit of the IMF programme among others.
Speaking in an interview on Bolgatanaga-based A1 Radio, Inusah Fusseni said governance is a serious business and not for comic reliefs and that, Vice President Bawumia should be honest about the wellbeing of Ghanaians with listing of achievements.
“On the ticket of promises, you [Bawumia] have no track record. Governing a nation is not a comedy. It’s not a child’s play. If you said you have done One Village One Dam and there is no water in the dam, what does it mean? Is this an achievement?
“Nana Addo is noted to have said that he won election 2016 with about 1million votes. In the 2020 elections, even with paddling in some polling stations, Nana Akufo-Addo barely crossed the 500, 000 mark. These are the issues that Bawumia should be worried about. If you say you have achieved all these, how come Ghanaians have not appreciated you enough?”
The Vice President has made similar claims of achievement records in the past to support his government.
In May 2020, he outlined 37 policy interventions the Akufo-Addo-led administration has implemented over the past three years to help Ghanaian workers.
In December 2019, Dr. Bawumia noted what he called 87 major achievements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to compare with the Mahama administration.
