I’ve not said gov’t needs E-Levy to evacuate Ghanaians in Ukraine – Afenyo-Markin
The Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament, Mr Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin has rubbished reports suggesting he has said, Ghanaians should embrace the passage of the E-Levy because it puts the government in a better position to evacuate Ghanaians in war-hit Ukraine.
According to the Effutu lawmaker, he has never made such statement and it should be disregarded as false reportage.
There has been wide spread media reports that, the deputy Majority leader urged the Minority in Parliament to support the passage of the E-levy to help raise more revenue for exercises of such nature.
Responding to this in a statement, Afenyo-Markin said, “such media reports amount to publication of false news and unethical journalism”.
