Jackie Appiah Bags Master’s Degree

Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah has added another academic achievement to her name, earning a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana.

A viral post on social media, dated February 12, 2025, captures the actress beaming with pride in her graduation gown as she receives her certificate. Sharing the joyous moment, she captioned her post: “Congratulations to Jackie Appiah, Master of Arts (MA) in Communication Studies, University of Ghana.”

This milestone follows her 2022 academic success when she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Information Studies from the same institution.

Jackie Appiah, a Canadian-born Ghanaian actress, is widely celebrated for her outstanding contributions to the film industry. Her talent has earned her multiple awards, including Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2010 Africa Movie Academy Awards and Best Supporting Actress in 2007.

She also received two nominations in 2008 for Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Upcoming Actress. Beyond acting, she is a producer, fashion model, and humanitarian.

Her film career spans both Ghanaian and Nollywood productions, with notable appearances in Beyoncé, The President’s Daughter, Princess Tyra, Passion of the Soul, Pretty Queen, The Prince’s Bride, The King is Mine, and The Perfect Picture. She has also starred in Nollywood hits like Black Soul, Bitter Blessing (alongside Ramsey Nouah), and My Last Wedding (with Emeka Ike).

With this latest accomplishment, Jackie Appiah joins the ranks of Ghanaian celebrities, such as John Dumelo and A Plus, who have pursued higher education and obtained master’s degrees.
