Joe Baidoe-Ansah Enters NPP General Secretary Race
Mr Joe Baidoe-Ansah, a former Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim in Western Region has entered the New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary race.
Mr Baidoe-Ansah, a communication consultant served as Minister of Trade, Industry, Private Sector Development and President’s Special Initiative in President John Agyekum Kufuor’s administration.
Until his entry in the NPP general secretary race, it looked like the acting General Secretary, Mr John Boadu who doubles as National Organiser was going into the race unopposed.
This is because, former General Secretary, Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, a.k.a. Sir John who had earlier declared his intention had withdrawn from the NPP general secretary race.
Mr Baidoe-Ansah’s decision to contest the position, according a report by Adomonline is to provide effective leadership for the NPP to enable the party to easily win the next general elections.
He thinks his vast experience as a four-time MP and former Minister will enable him to provide the kind of leadership needed to take the governing party to the next level.
Graphic Online understands Mr Baidoe-Ansah is entering the NPP general secretary race in response to calls from senior members of the party.
He is a governance, human rights and communication consultant with an academic background in journalism and communications.
He has a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Human Rights from the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Studies, University of London and another Master of Arts (M.A) degree in Conflict, Peace and Security from Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre.
The NPP has planned to go for congress to elect national officers in June 2018.
