Joe Mettle Secures Ten Nominations For Ghana At (AGAFEST) 2019
The first ever continental gospel awards event, Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST), has seen Ghana’s gospel Musician Joe Mettle securing ten nominations beating Nigerian Tim Godfrey who had eight and South Africa’s Dr. Tumi who received six nominations in total.
The Africa Gospel Awards Festival is seek to recognise and celebrate talents and hardworking gospel acts across Africa. It will bring legends and artistes in the gospel circles all across the African continent together.
AGAFEST seeks to create the platform for gospel players to be suitably rewarded for their labour of love for the Kingdom of God.
The Unveiling ceremony to announce the nominees for the maiden edition was held at a brief ceremony at the Holiday Inn hotel on Friday, January 11, 2019.
Musicians such as Kingzkid, Lil Zig, Effe Grace, Patience Nyarko, Kobbie Sam among others were there to grace the occasion. Dignitaries including the CEO of the award scheme, Prince Mackay, artiste manager, Nii Noi(Akesse Brempong’s manager) was around to add his honour to the about 3 hour event.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of AGAFEST, Prince Mackay, nominations were made based on performances and songs released by gospel artistes from January 2017 to November 2018.
He further revealed that, the main awards night will be held in the first week of March in Accra, Ghana. The 2019 AGAFEST is themed ‘Africa under one God’
