The final funeral rites of the late veteran actor, Mac Jordan Amartey was held Saturday at the Christianborg Stake Centre in Accra. He was laid to rest at the Osu cemetery.
The ceremony was well attended by family, friends, as well as industry players who described him as one who contributed immensely to filmmaking in Ghana.
Oscar Provencal of the Inspector Bediako referred to the late actor as a “real gem” who was among the pioneers who made the movie industry robust during his time.
Prince David Osei said his fond memories about Mac Jordan Amartey was his “unique character” and one who upcoming actors looked up to.
Mac Jordan is remembered for the popular ‘Idikoko’ TV series, and also for numerous TV Theatre productions and Ghanaian films.
He died on July 6, 2018, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness. The veteran actor left behind a wife and four children. He was laid to rest at the Osu cemetery.
