Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil has dedicated Genk’s 5 – 2 win over Anderlecht to fans of the Belgian side.
Paintsil played a starring role in Genk’s big win over the UEFA Europa Conference League contenders in the latest round of games in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
The Black Stars winger scored twice in the 49th and 87th minute respectively and added an assist in a game that had fellow Black Stars player Majeed Ashimeru play 58th minutes as a starter.
“Just want to express my deep gratitude to our lovely fans. Your support was amazing today and this victory is for you” Paintsil stated on his Twitter page.
The win keeps Genk atop the league standings with 74 points and two points ahead of second placed Union Saint Gilloisie with both teams having played 33 games.
Paintsil’s tally for the 2022-2023 season has improved to 13 assists and 14 goals in 29 league games in the best statistical year of his pro career.
