A GROUP of Journalists have, allegedly, been assaulted right in the line of duty near the Abinkyi Market in Kumasi.
A building, which contained a church, was in flames on Thursday afternoon and the journalists rushed there to cover.
They were, reportedly, in the course of capturing the flames on their cameras when they were violently attacked.
A group of artisans, who clearly do not understand the wok of the media, seized the cameras of the dejected journalists.
Protests by the journalists to get their cameras and other gadgets back clearly fell on deaf of ears so they reported the case to police.
Eventually, the cameras were released to the journalists but they were denied a golden opportunity to capture the fire on video.
Eye witnesses said aside housing the church; the building that was torched by the fire, also contained a day care center and other shops.
Without any hint, the people just saw the building in flames at a time when some of the pupils in the day care center were still there.
Some brave people at the scene managed to save the kids as the blaze was eventually quenched through the help of fire fighters.
