THE POLICE in Asante Juaben, in the Ashanti region, have received a plush house to help solve their long-standing accommodation problems.
The largesse was made possible following the public spiritedness of the Chairman of the Council of State, Nana Otuo Serebuo, who is also the Paramount Chief of Asante Juaben Traditional Area.
Lack of decent accommodation had been a constant worry to police personnel posted to the area so the Juabenhene and his sub-chiefs decided to intervene by presenting the house, which contains several apartments, to the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwasi Duku.
In a short address, the Council of State Chairman noted that government cannot transform the country alone, and entreated all Ghanaians to at all times make it a habit to support the state.
Nana Otuo Serebuo said the country would be a better place, and also witness massive development, if the people decide to support the government as he and his sub-chiefs had done for the police.
He disclosed that the second-phase of the police apartment building at Asante Juaben would be completed next year, adding that it is his vision to build a police barracks at Juaben in the near future.
For his part, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwasi Duku, presented a saloon car for patrols to the Juaben police and lauded the Council of State chairman for his invaluable support.
