Jubilee FPSO, Atuabo Gas Plant Shutdown
Jubilee FPSO Kwame Nkrumah and Atuabo Processing Gas Plant has been shut down.
This is to enable a team of engineers undertake maintenance works to improve process reliability on the two facilities.
The Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) and Jubilee Partners yesterday issued different statements, both announcing the shutdown of the facilities.
According to the statement, the exercise which began yesterday, is expected to end on February 25, 2018.
“A damaged Turret Bearing on the Jubilee FPSO Kwame Nkrumah vessel would be repaired, whereas expansion works would be carried out on GNGCs Regulating and Meeting Station (RMS) infrastructure at Takoradi, to help increase gas handling capacity from the current 135 mmscf/d to 405mmscf/d,” the statement mentioned.
The increased capacity is expected to add an additional 270mmscf/d capacity to the facility.
However, a second shutdown is scheduled to take place on March, 19th estimated for three weeks period for completion of works.
Gas supply from the Jubilee field would be replaced with gas from the TEIN fields to Ghana National Gas Company during the he railways
Major planned government projects such as the railways expansion project and the fertilizer production plants and key government industrialization projects, are expected to benefit upon completion of the maintenance works.
The Jubilee Partners has therefore acknowledged its affiliate agencies for their collaboration and support in ensuring that this important scope of work is carried out successfully.
