Indeed, many people do not look like what they have been through. Looking at Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim, one may easily think of her as someone who had always had her way and probably attracted only the good things of life.
However, this isn’t so as the movie actress recently opened up about how she was raped as a child. Ibrahim, in an interview with BBC Pidgin, opened up on her bitter encounter.
The voluptuous actress, who revealed she was sexually assaulted, refused to give details as she did not want to bring back the memories.
“I take rape very serious because rape victims can come out anytime in life. It is something that is very common, it happens to everybody. Ehappen to me. I’m bold enough to talk about it. That be why now I have Superman eye adey look over my niece,” she said.
“If I just see one day that she get on top of somebody’s back, I’ll jump, Jasmine get down from there because I know weytin happen to me. When I was her age, people dey carry me for back dem go dey carry you eeeehh they want to jump around. The next thing they’re doing something at your back”, she added.
Commenting on Ghana’s movie industry, she said, “To be honest, I’m not sure what happened and where we went wrong but I miss the bubbly industry we once had.
“It’ll be a moment of joy for us if a miracle happens and proper structures are put in place to get us back to where we used to be or better than we used to be.”
Juliet describes herself as a determined, fun-loving, hardworking, family-oriented, friendly and down-to-earth lady.
Some of the movies she has featured in include London Fever, Pretty Demon, Small Girls Big Gods, Return of the Beast and others that are yet to be released.
