Justin Frimpong Kodua extends good wishes to muslims

New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary Aspirant, Justin Frimpong Kodua has extended his good wishes to Muslims across the country as the beginning of the Ramadan period starts.

Mr. Frimpong in a statement urged Muslims to continually pray for Ghana’s peace during the Ramadan season.

“As I join the National Chief Imam, His Excellency, the Vice President, and the Second Lady of the Republic, and all our Muslim compatriots in the praise of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) in this sacred month, I also urge you to continue to intervene for Ghana’s peace and prosperity.”

Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar begins with the sighting of the moon.

Fasting in Ramadan involves abstaining from eating, drinking, smoking, and sexual relations from dawn to sunset.

Ramadan for Muslims is a month of reflection, and self-improvement in relation to one’s behaviour toward other people, oneself, and Allah.

At the commencement of this holy month of Ramadan, I extend warm wishes to all our Muslim brothers and sisters in Ghana, and of course across the globe as they undertake this religious duty.

In His walk with His true servants, Allah (Praise be unto Him), has always prescribed some rituals to be observed for the greater benefits of His true worshippers. Per the words of Surah baqarah Ayah 2:183– “O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous”, the observance of the month of Ramadan as holy is one such significant rituals ordained by Allah (SWT) on all true Muslims.

This holy month of this special spiritual journey, characterised by sawm (fasting), constant recital of the Qur’an, prayers, paying of Zakat, and restraint from all secular pleasures, is not just significant in commemorating the revelation of the Holy Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), but also the consolidation of the relationship between man and his Creator. It is a blessed month for Muslims!
