The Zambian legend is one of the most respected figures in Southern African football, Kalusha Bwalya is also well known in South Africa as a SuperSport television presenter.
He is also the former president of the Football Association of Zambia (Faz). On Friday it was revealed that Fifa banned Bwalya from all football-related activities for two years over accepting illegal payments from former Asian football chief Mohammed bin Hammam.
On friday, August 10, 2018, the Federation of International Football (FIFA) banned the former Zambia national team captain‚ coach and FA head Kalusha Bwalya from football activities for two years.
In responding to the ban from the world football federation, the football personality states, ”I am surprised and saddened by today’s receipt of the notification from the FIFA Ethics Committee adjudication”.
”I have instructed my legal team to immediately appeal this decision urgently and would like to state that I am NOT guilty of any offence, which allegedly took place.” – he added.

Do hereby state that:
1. I am surprised and saddened by today’s receipt of the notification from the FIFA Ethics Committee adjudication.
2. I have instructed my legal team to immediately appeal this decision urgently and would like to state that I am NOT guilty of any offence, which allegedly took place.
3. I have never done and will never do anything to bring the beautiful game into disrepute and stand by the facts provided by me to the committee.
4. I unfortunately cannot provide any further details as my legal team has advised I that this would jeopardize my chances of obtaining leave to appeal.
5. FIFAs decision is not final and I will fight tooth and nail for justice to clear my name.
