Kankam secures 100 percent

KENNEDY KANKAM has made history by scoring 100% ‘Yes’ votes to become the new Chief Executive of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly.

The Tuesday October 5 morning election, held at Asokore Mampong, the capital of the municipality, saw 22 out of 24 total number of Assemblymen showing up.

After just first round of voting, the Electoral Commission (EC) staff, who supervised the peaceful polls, announced that Kankam had secured all the votes.

Kankam, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Nhyiaeso, in his acceptance speech, said he was grateful to God for His favour and the gift of life.

The newly-elect Asokore Mampong MCE commended President Nana Akufo-Addo for nominating to such a high office to serve in his government.

Also, he said he appreciates the overwhelming support that was displayed by the assemblymen, assuring to work with them in peace to transform the assembly.

Kankam, who is a former Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party(NPP) Youth Organizer, said creating jobs for the jobless youth and the development of the area is his priority.

He also said industrialization remained one of his key objectives, stressing that he would work in peace with the chiefs and assemblymen to develop the area.
