THE KOMFO Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi has taken delivery of 100 brand new and modern hospital beds and mattresses.
Valued at a colossal amount of Gh 365,000, the items were donated to the Oncology Department of KATH, ostensibly to help promote quality healthcare delivery.
Kennedy Agyapong also donated an amount of USD$147,000.00 to KATH to help defray the cost of a year planned preventive maintenance of the linac machine, few weeks ago.
The benevolent gesture was made possible by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, who is widely known to be a free giver.
In his address when he donated the beds and mattresses on Monday, Kennedy Agyapong said he is committed to help improve healthcare in the country.
According to him, the country could be properly developed with a healthy and strong human resource base, hence the need to strengthen the health sector.
Kennedy Agyapong, who is contesting for the NPP flagbearer position, assured that he would continue to help the hospitals in the country to deliver.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KATH, Prof. Otchere Addai Mensah, described the donation as timely, noting that Kennedy Agyapong deserved to be praised.
