Ken Agyapong versus Anas: Court sets October 11 for Ruling

An Accra High Court presided over His Lordship Justice Daniel Mensah has set October 11, 2018 for a ruling in a GHC 25,000,000 suit filed by Ace Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas against the controversial lawmaker for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong.

The case at the last hearing had to be adjourned to today July 31, 2018 because lawyers for the defendant told the court they had not been served with the supplementary affidavit and they needed more time to address the averment in the said supplementary affidavit.

Award-winning journalist and lawyer Anas Aremeyaw Anas is praying the court to rule in his favour in the GhC25 million suit as well as  Lawyers for  Assin Central lawmaker have been praying the court to dismiss the suit “for lack of merit.”

Lawyer Kissi Adjabeng contended that Anas’ address which serves as his residence and office, is a popular place and easily identifiable, adding that his lawful Attorney Listowell Yesu Bukarson, is known, Ghanaian and resides in Ghana.

Counsel for the plaintiff in reaction claimed their application is not only an “abuse of the court” but an “abuse of the judge and his person” as well on the basis their application is “shocking, unimaginable and alien” to judicial system of the country.
