KILL THIS MAN QUICK! …Dead Police Family Yells

THE FAMILY of the late Corporal Awal Mohammed, one of the murdered police officers at Budumburam in the Central Region, is demanding capital punishment for the suspected killer(s) of the late policeman.

Abdul Fatau, a cousin of Awal Mohammed, speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, said only capital punishment would appease his family.

“If you kill an innocent person like Awal Mohammed, just like the suspect did, then he (suspect) too must be killed”, he told journalists.

Cpl. Mohammed was shot dead, alleged by Eric Duah, whilst in line of duty, after which he (Duah) absconded, before he was later nabbed.

Fatauopined that if Eric is not killed,he could hire a top lawyer to defend him and secure his release from custody, while government would still spend tax papers’ money on him, if he is jailed. Either way he said Duah will not feel the pain as expected.

According to him, the bereaved family had been hit hard over the unexpected demise of Cpl. Awal, whom he described as a good person.He, therefore, suggested death by firing squad for his killers.

Meanwhile, the remains ofLance Corporal Awal Mohammed, a staunch Muslim, were buried according to Islamic traditions at Abuakwa in Kumasi on Friday.

The Vice President, Alhaji Dr. MahamaduBawumia, government officials, Muslims clerics, family members and friends of Awal were present.
