A 26 year old man who was accused of murdering his beautiful lover, Samira, was nearly killed by an angry mob in the Ashanti Region on Monday.
The suspect, Kwasi Bonsu, was pummeled with concrete blocks and metal objects by an angry mob on Monday afternoon.
Some Good Samaritans risked their lives to save Bonsu, who was said to be an ex-convict and very wicked person.
According to a police source, Samira had visited Bonsu at Parkoso Estate when calamity suddenly struck on Monday.
The source disclosed that Samira’s bartered body and smashed head was found lying behind Bonsu’s house.
Residents in the area confronted Bonsu and they realized he killed Samira, whom he accused of being unfaithful to him.
This infuriated the mob at Parkoso Estate, who reportedly started to beat Bonsu, with the sole intention to kill him.
But some brave people in the hitherto peaceful community intervened and saved Bonsu, who was looking very weak.
When police proceeded to the scene, Bonsu, who was badly injured, had been saved from the jaws of death.
Samira, whose head had been smashed with concrete blocks, was also lying in a prone position on the ground.
The source said the body has since been kept in a morgue for autopsy as Bonsu is also being held by the police.
