Killer Truck Hits 7 People

TWO PEOPLE are feared dead and five others are badly injured after a Kia Truck ran over them in Kumasi.

The truck was said to have developed a break failure somefew minutes after it had offloaded goods on Monday afternoon.

The incident, which happened at the Adehyeman Market area, saw scores of traders and shoppers running helter-skelter .

Eye witnesses said the the truck, which was facing the Kejetia direction, suddenly started to move at top speed.

The driver of the truck initially tried to avoid hitting the car injuring pedestrians so he directed the truck into some parked cars.

The impact of the the crash with the cars could not stop the truck as it continued to move and cause more danger.

Eventually, the truck knocked and trapped seven people, including a Yam seller and a young female head porter.

Unconfirmed reports have it that one person died instantly and another person died on the way to the hospital.

Five other people that suffered life threatening injuries are said to be hospitalised as police investigates the case.
