KK Fosu Marks 25 Years in Music with DSTYLE Concert

The much-anticipated DSTYLE Concert, scheduled for December 21, 2024, at Bayview Village in Accra, will honor the 25-year music journey of legendary Ghanaian musician KK Fosu.

The event, starting at 6:00 PM, promises thrilling live performances by KK Fosu and guest appearances by renowned artists like Dada KD, Samini, Reggie Rockstone, Pat Thomas, Tinny, Kofi Nti and many more.

Speaking at the press launch on Thursday , December 19, 2024, at the Bayview Hotel, Atomic Junction in Accra, KK Fosu shared his excitement about the concert and reflected on his career. “Being in music for 25 years is incredible, but it comes with mixed emotions. It’s by God’s grace that I’m still here,” he said.

He revealed that the idea for the DSTYLE Concert had been in the works for a long time, with initial plans delayed by an accident earlier in the year.

We’ve been thinking about the DSTYLE Concert for a long time and planning it for years. Fans have always wanted to see me host my own concert, and after 25 years in music, it feels right to celebrate this milestone with them. Earlier this year, on January 1st, we launched the idea at the beach.

Originally, we planned to hold the concert in the middle of the year, but an accident caused delays. Despite the challenges, we felt it was important to fulfill our promise to the fans. That’s why we decided to move forward and make it happen now,” KK Fosu added.

Organizers highlighted the significance of the concert in showcasing Ghanaian music’s rich culture and spirit while paying tribute to KK Fosu’s enduring legacy.

Reflecting on his career and the state of highlife music, KK Fosu shared his thoughts on discipline and the need to nurture Ghanaian talent.

“You need self-discipline. You must constantly reinvent yourself because you will encounter, hear, and face many challenges. How you handle them is what truly matters. I have decided to focus on the most important things.

We need more highlife talent, and I urge young musicians to embrace highlife music. They should not shy away from it. Highlife music is not just for the older generation; it is for everyone,” he urged.
