KMA Denies Contracting Delta Force
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has described as false, a news report which suggested that the Assembly had contracted the services of a group known as Delta Force, to help in the relocation of the traders and transport unions, operating illegally within the city.
The said report, filed by Isaac Bediako Justice was carried on satrrfmonline.com and claimed
A statement, authored by Godwin Okumah Nyame, the KMA Public Relations Officer, said Isaac Bediako’s report is laden with falsehood and should therefore be ignored by the public.
According to him, the Delta Force is not playing any role in the relocation processes of the traders and transport unions, operating illegally in the city.
Okumah Nyame stated that the security agencies, led by DSP Kingsley Kwame Kawodie, are leading the relocation of the traders and transport unions.
He wondered why Isaac Bediako concocted blatant lies about the relocation process just to create unnecessary tension and fear in the city.
Okumah Nyame admonished journalists, notably Isaac Bediako, to refrain from peddling lies and rather abide by the ethics of his profession all the time.
He also described as false Isaac Bediako’s report that the traders and transport unions are not in support of the KMAs decision to relocate them.
Okumah Nyame said the leadership of the affected traders and transport unions has always been in the known and supported the relocation process.
