HEALTHCARE DELIVERY in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, has been boosted following the donation of medical consumables on Wednesday to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) by two companies operating in the city.
The companies are Sejorosa Consult, a consultancy and investment firm and Skidlab Ventures, which deals in medical equipment/consumables.
The items, valued at US$10,000, include Urine Collection Bag, Face Mask, Surgical Glove Syringes and MVA Kit, among other medical consumables.
Mrs. Irene Kugbadzor Brown, Vice President, Skidlab Ventures Ghana Ltd, said the donation is geared towards helping healthcare delivery in the city.
She observed that most medical institutions in the city lacked key amenities, adding that this situation prompted the two companies to make the donation, which she said formed part of her company’s corporate social responsibilities to the city. She promised to sustain the largesse for as long as it may take.
The Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, who received the items, described the donation as timely and said the items would be distributed to hospitals in the city.
He commended the donors for showing love and urged other corporate institutions to emulate their shining example by making similar donations.
