The VIP Transport Limited has donated a garbage compactor truck and four tricycles to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to support its “Operation Keep the City Clean and Green” initiative.
The donation, according to the company’s General Manager, Mr Adakabre Frimpong Manso was part of its cooperate social responsibility to give back to society.
Mr Manso said VIP Transport Limited being a Kumasi registered company, could not sit unconcerned when it realised that the KMA, led by Mr Osei Assibey Antwi had put strategies in place to restore the city to its former glory.
He said as the company celebrates its 10th anniversary it decided to support the KMA’s project with the waste management trucks.
The KMA boss thanked the company for its gesture.
He said the Assembly has been hiring such trucks for waste management activities at a cost noting that the donation will go a long way to help the KMA cut down cost.
He appealed to other private entities and philanthropist to also come and support the project to help restore the city to its former glory.
