KMA Sprays SHS Over Bedbugs
Various Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Kumasi Metropolis have started benefitting from a massive fumigation exercise, aimed at getting rid of bedbugs and other harmful parasitic insects from sucking the blood of students.
The exercise, which started on Saturday, is expected to be sustained until all the senior high schools in Kumasi had been fumigated.
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) is embarking on the project in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the Ashanti regional capital.
The schools that have so far been fumigated are Opoku Ware, Kumasi Girls, Kumasi Secondary Technical and Kumasi High, among others.
Speaking with THE PUBLISHER, Frank Kwadwo Duodu, the Kumasi NADMO Coordinator, said his outfit had received complaints about the presence of bedbugs in the schools, hence the decision to team up with the assembly to fumigate the schools.
He stressed that the exercise would be sustained until bedbugs have been completely eliminated from the schools in the Metropolis.
