KMA Validation Team Starts Work Today
THE KEJETIA Validation Oversight Committee, tasked to ensure the smooth allocation of stalls to traders, will officially start their work today.
Chaired by Nana Agyenim Boateng, the Amoamanhene, the eleven-member committee was inaugurated at the National Center of Culture in Kumasi on Friday.
The Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, who inaugurated the committee, tasked the members to be fair and firm in their operations.
According to him, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) wants to make sure that only genuine traders, who are captured in KMA’s data as shop owners, would be allocated with stalls.
He said no mean a personality than the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, also wants fairness in the distribution of the stalls, and therefore charged the committee to make sure that fairness is upheld.
Responding, Nana Agyenim assured that the committee would discharge its duties in a transparent manner.
Some of the committee members are Nana Owusu Afriyie, Patrick Adu Poku, Yvonne Nabo, Theresa Osei Tutu and Juliana Nsiah.
The Kejetia Bus Terminal had been under construction for the past three years to help expand the age-long facility.
Traders were registered and moved to another place to pave way for construction works to go on smoothly, hence the formation of the validation committee.
