Most town roads in the capital prior to the New Patriotic Party’s annual national delegates’ congress started seeing bitumen surfacing with the project still ongoing.
Even though most people thought the project was just a ‘one day’ wonder, such perceptions have been rubbished as it is still ongoing.
However, some residents who spoke to Michael Akrofi who doubles as correspondent for Peace FM in the Eastern Region Capital Koforidua, expressed gratitude to the government for upgrading the road networks within the area.
They are, however wondering if the road are going to last long as that of erstwhile Mahama administration started deteriorating just few months after completion.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) prior to the 2016 general elections upgraded some town roads in the capital, example being the B foster-Effiduase stretch but started developing potholes few months after the elections hence the worry of the people especially drivers
Kofi Nti AppiaAgyei Eastern Regional Director for the Department Of Urban Roads speaking to to Michael Akrofi said the 10 kilometers road artifacts is different this time. And all the engineering factors which has to be put in place have been done.
Also the pavement structure have been repaired before they will do the overlay.
