The Eastern Regional Police Command has arrested three persons for suspected robbery in Koforidua.
The suspects, Kweku Asare Prince , 24 years, Kwame Abass 19 years, and Awudza Samuel, also 19 years, were part of six masked armed robbers who tied security guards on duty at Dos Amigos, a construction and hardware shop near the Koforidua Technical University.
They broke into the manager’s office and made away with GHC 38,405.00 before police got to the scene.
Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, who confirmed the arrest to Citi News indicated that the three suspects together with their three accomplices currently on the run, attacked the victims with guns and machetes.
ASP Ebenezer Tetteh pleaded with the general public to assist the police with information to apprehend the other three suspects.
“The police in the Eastern Region is committed to protecting human lives and properties to ensure the safety of everyone, so we are pleading with the general public not to shield anyone they suspect, but to help us with intelligence to clamp down on criminals in the region”.
