Komenda Sugar Factory Produces Air Not Sugar – Sammy Awuku
The governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) is not prepared to go the way of main opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) where it built a sugar factory in the Central Region that produced air instead of sugar, Sammi Awuku has indicated.
“We are not going to go the NDC’s way when it comes to building factories in the country.
The NPP is doing all the needed due diligence before the factories are sink in the various districts,” he stressed.
The out-going National Youth Organizer of the party said this on the Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show.
According to the youth leader, who is now vying for the position of National Organizer of party, the NPP is committed to making the flagship policy ‘One-district -One factory’ a reality to create jobs for the teeming unemployed youth across the country.
He corrected the notion that what has accounted for the delay in rolling out the policy is the synchronization of the policy.
“We do not want to build factories that will become white elephants in the districts, we want to build factories that employ the youth,” he stressed.
He said the government has created a secretariat for the rolling out of the flagship policy across the country and very soon Ghanaians will see the factories being built in collaboration with the private sector.
He said the NPP is committed to using the policy to create jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.
“Finding jobs for the youth is one of the cardinal issues on the mind of the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. We are committed to putting an end to rural -urban drift in the country by building factories that will produce items,” he added
The NPP is not ready to build factories that will produce air instead of what it intended producing.
