GHANA’S NAME will be taken to the international map in November 2022 through the efforts of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the defending Ghana League Champions.
The two times African Champions has accepted an invitation to play two friendly matches with the National Team of Belize, a beautiful country in the Caribbean.
The General Secretary of the Football Federation of Belize (FFB), Earl Jones and a Kotoko Management Member,
Patrick Osei Agyemang, have signed agreement for the games to take place.
The two top international friendly games are taking place as part of programmes marking this year’s Mayor of Belmopan upcoming Mayor’s Conference in Belize.
Patrick Osei Agyemang, stated emphatically that “Kotoko would beat Belize in front of their home supporters”, and lauded the officials of Belize for their warm invitation.
“We look forward to work close with Kotoko to improve our national team at home, develop some of their skills they have and learn from their experience”, Earl Jone also said.
According to him, the upcoming matches “are significant to help foster good ties between the two opponents, especially in the development football talents in Belize”.
The agreement signing ceremony was witnessed by the Mayor of Belmopan, Her Worship, Sheran Palacio and other top dignitaries both from Belize and Ghana.
Her Worship Sheran Palacio described football as a positive tool to help bring countries together, saying that she hopes Ghana-Belize ties would deepen after the two games.
The Mayor of Belmopan also urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to bring the female football national team to Belize for a friendly game with the Belize female team.
