Kotoko Must Make Sacrifices To The Gods
KUMASI ASANTE Kotoko Boss, Dr. Kwame Kyei, has been asked to start making sacrifices to the ‘gods’ of the Kumasi-based club.
A former management member of the club, Yamoah Ponkoh, said Kotoko (the porcupine) is a ‘god’ and opined that proper sacrifices need to be made to pacify the gods.
According to him, he could see that the Kotoko gods are not being served properly, leading to a bad omen for the traditional club.
Ponkoh said if the club wanted to be strong on the pitch then the management should do the right thing.
The outspoken former football administrator was commenting on Kotoko’s shock exit from the Africa Confederations Cup tournament.
The Ghanaian club was edged out from the tournament during penalty shootouts against CARA of Congo on Wednesday.
Ponkoh said he didn’t understand why Kotoko squandered penalties at ease during the cagey contest in Kumasi and Congo, adding that the Kotoko spirit was down and should be pacified.
“The Kotoko spirit is very down so the management needs to properly work on that aspect to help the club bounce back”, he said.
