Kotoko Strips Amos Frimpong Off Captaincy?
DEFENDER Amos Frimpong’s days as general captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko is numbered, the paper has gathered.
The club’s management, according to sources, is not too impressed with the way Frimpong has acted as captain of the club so far and have consequently decided to strip him off the captaincy, unconfirmed reports reaching THE PUBLISHER SPORTS indicate.
According to deep-throat sources in the Kotoko family, management has realized that Amos Frimpong lacks the needed leadership qualities to captain the club.
They claim his leadership deficiencies have adversely affected the club’s performance on the pitch in recent times.
The paper also gathered that Deputy Captain, Eric Donkor, could also lose his position in the coming days as the next captain and deputy have already been selected.
The sources say newly appointed trainer, Paa Kwesi Fabin, has already been tasked to announce the names of the new captain and his deputy soon.
Amos Frimpong, it would be recalled, missed two penalties when Kotoko were knocked out from their African Confederation Cup campaign recently.
