THE KROFROM Market Project in Kumasi, which became a white elephant for many years due to neglect, will be completed soon to boost economic activities.
Announcing the pleasant news in Kumasi recently, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, Mayor of the city, disclosed that the Finance Ministry had given the green light for the project to re-start.
He also revealed that the consultant for the project, which started one-decade ago, Avangarde Design Services, had recalled the contractors to site.
“It is with a big sigh of relief that I report on the status of the infamous Krofrom Market Project. Osei Assibey, who looked cheerful, told members of the assembly.
“Finally, the assembly has received no objection from the Ministry of Finance to contract a loan from Fidelity bank Ghana Ltd for the completion of the market”.
Osei Assibey was addressing the assemblymen during the 1st Ordinary Meeting of the 4th Session of the 7th Assembly at the KMA Conference Hall.
Assemblymen, including the Presiding Member (PM), Abraham Boadi, critically looked into how the assembly performed last year.
They also formulated strategies, with regards to what should be done to make Kumasi develop, to help improve the lives of residents in the city.
