Kti, Islamic School Gives Blood to Help Save Lives
STUDENTS OF two Senior High Schools (SHS) in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, have donated blood to the National Blood Bank.
The schools, which clearly deserve commendation are the Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) and the Islamic Secondary School (ISS).
The blood donation exercises, which was massively graced, took place on Tuesday, October 23, through to Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
The exercise was however organised by the Power Queens Club―a women’s wing of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG)―consisting of all women working with ECG.
National President of the Power Queens Club, Rosemond Asamoah Frimpong, said her club as part of its 30th anniversary, decided to solicit blood to furnish the National Blood Bank.
“The first point of call were the two senior high schools who gave without reservation,” she said.
Madam Frimpong added that similar blood donation was being held across the country under the auspices of the club’s regional branches.
She stated that a total of 2,000 pints of blood was being targeted during the blood donation exercises all over the country, this year.
Ashanti Regional President of the Power Queens Club, Richlove Osei Kontor said she was very excited about the massive patronage of the exercise.
The Power Queens Club of the ECG are known for usually donates to orphans, prisons and foster homes during September of every year.
