Tertiary Institutions in the Ghana have over the years have been criticized over a seeming disconnect between its academic programs and challenges bedeviling communities.
The National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) strategic plan captured in its policy framework encourages applied research in priority areas for national development in tertiary education institutions as well as ensuring relevance of tertiary education programmes to national development and income generation.
The Koforidua Technical University strategic plan embedded in its vision is to strive to become a Center of Excellence in applied research and a reference point for solution to community problems while providing standard Science and Technology Education
The University has therefore made strides securing strategic partnership with industry and the media in the realization of this vision.
