Professor (Mrs) Smile Gavua Dzisi, the Vice Chancellor of the Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has said the vision of the University is to be the reference point for world-class science and technology education and applied research.
She said in order to fulfil the vision; the University has equipped its students with hands on practical and entrepreneurial skills through close collaborations with industries, which go beyond mandatory student internship.
Prof Dzisi said this during this year’s matriculation ceremony for 2,951 freshmen and women admitted into the University at Koforidua.
She said the University has entered into international partnership and exchange programme with staff and students of the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences in Germany to improve teaching and learning.
Prof Dzisi said the University had institute a series of research seminar to help students to conduct research as well as learn about new and emerging things in the world.
She stated that students will be given the opportunity to showcase their research findings and inventions at a Biannual International Applied Research Conference and Technology Fair organized by the University.
She advised the freshmen and women to take advantage of the opportunity offered them by the University through their admission.
Prof Dzisi admonished the students to seek help from the appropriate offices if they had challenges in meeting deadlines for registration, assignments and others because the University took the issue of meeting deadlines serious.
