Kuami Eugene Adjudged Most Promising Artiste In Africa
Multi-talented hit maker of Lynx Entertainment, Kuami Eugene, was on Saturday adjudged the “Most Promising Artiste in Africa” at the just ended All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
The fast rising singer beat his label mate Kidi, Amanda Malela, Blanche Baily, DJ Zoumanto, Gaz Mawete, King Promise, Ko-C, Lily, Lyna Mahyem and Tamy with his song ‘Confusion’ to clinch the prestigious award.
The 5th edition of AFRIMA came off for the first time in Ghana at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).
It brought together music stars, dignitaries, and music lovers across the continent, as the music event celebrated and rewarded African talents who have done exceedingly well in the year under review.
Being the youngest music artiste in Ghana currently, Kuami Eugene has gained international recognition with his many hit songs. This contributed to him winning the Most Promising Artiste in Africa.
However, he wasn’t the only Ghanaian artiste to have won an award on the night. Out of the 36 categories, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, Manifest, Guiltybeatz and Patapa, were also awarded.
A special recognition award, which was fully decided by the International Committee of AFRIMA went to Ghana’s music veteran, Teddy Osei, the leader of the famous Osibisa group, a band created in 1969 for impacting the world positively with their craft.
The night saw performances from artists coming from all across Africa. Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) is an annual award show.
The event was established by the International Committee AFRIMA, in collaboration with the African Union to reward and celebrate musical works, talents and creativity around the African continent while promoting the African cultural heritage.
Ghana, after hosting the 5th edition, will continue to host the 2019 and 2020 editions as well.
