Ghanaian Afrobeat musician, Andrews Commey Otoo popularly known by his stage name as Mr. Drew has labelled his colleague musician, Kuami Eugene as an ignorant personality who shouldn’t be taken serious or regarded when he speaks.
Reacting to allegation levelled against him for supposedly stealing Kuami Eugene’s song in an interview with Delay, he said, “Oh, Kuami Eugene? Forget that guy. Everyone knows he talks anyhow. He knows this himself.”
Mr Drew continued, “The thing is nobody stole any song. And if we are to investigate, it would be evident that nobody has stolen any song. And I don’t even think he has come out to say that someone has stolen his song. He’s just putting up actions to make it look like someone has stolen a song.”
He further explained that Kuami Eugene and his label Management made indicting comments to suggest that the song belonged to him. The comment went like this; This is a copy of No Dulling by Kuami Eugene.
When asked if he was sure Kuami Eugene was behind that account, he replied in the affirmative. He said an artist cannot be in the dark about the activities of his label on his behalf. He also pointed out that his colleague commented right after the incriminating comment by his label.
