Manager of West Ham United, David Moyes, has commended the performance of his substitute players, with a special mention for Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus, following West Ham’s 2-2 draw against Newcastle United, adding that, the player has gained his feet.
During the post-match conference with West Ham’s official channel, Moyes made this statement after the Hammers coming from behind to earn a point.
Kudus came off the bench in the 76th minute and scored the equalizer in the 89th minute for his debut English Premier League goal since joining West Ham from Ajax.
Moyes, whose decisions regarding Kudus’ playing time have sparked mixed reactions, emphasized the positive impact Kudus made on the game.
“I thought the substitutes today made a bit of a difference, especially Mo who gave us a different impetus and obviously then got us the equalizing goal as well, which helped us.”
“I’m pleased for Tomáš (Soucek) as he is making a good contribution with his goals, as did Mo today who got his first one for us, which was great.”
Tomáš Soucek scored the game’s first goal; West Ham ranks seventh in the league after the draw.
