Kufour’s sister buried

THE MORTAL remains of the late Rebecca Akosua Addo Dodoo, was finally interred at her hometown of Dabaa near Kumasi last Saturday, March 19, 2020.

The 92 year old was the elder sister of former President John Agyekum Kufuor and Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, a former Defense Minister of Ghana.

The deceased was also the grandmother of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, the Energy Minister and the MP for Manhyia South Constituency.

The burial ceremony took place in the morning and it was followed by a grand funeral rites ceremony at the Apagyafie in Kumasi, few hours later.

Top dignitaries in the country, including President Nana Akufo-Addo and his vice, Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, attended the funeral rites ceremony.

The President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and other dignitaries consoled the bereaved Apagya family of Kumasi, especially Otumfuo Apagyahene, Nana Owusu Afriyie, who sat in state.

Former President Kufuor, Dr. Addo Kufuor, Napo and other members of the great Apagyafie in Kumasi, were also there to receive the scores of mourners.

Some prominent chiefs in the Ashanti Region were also present to support the Apagya family to bid farewell to the late Rebecca Akosua Addo Dodoo.
