THE KUMASI Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) City Guards have taken delivery of free face masks and hand sanitizers to protect them from COVID-19.
The leadership of the Assembly has presented pieces 400 reusable face masks and 8 boxes of hand sanitizers to help the city guards to stay safe from the deadly virus.
The current management of the KMA have realized that the city guards interact with the public on daily basis, and this makes the city guards vulnerable of being infected by the virus.
The timely presentation of the hand sanitizers and face masks would therefore serve as proper protection for the city guards, who play viral roles for the KMA.
This presentation was done when the management of the KMA organized a Training Workshop on Measures to Prevent COVID-19 at Workplaces in Kumasi, recently.
Attended by personnel of the KMA, the workshop saw seasoned medical professionals educating the attendance about what they should do to stay safe from the virus.
Mr. Akuamoah Boateng, the KMA Coordinating Director, speaking at the workshop, said the virus spreads faster in workplaces where there is no social distancing.
He therefore announced that the KMA has started a rotational system in their workplace, and it is geared towards helping to prevent the spread of the virus at KMA.
According to him, management has the wellbeing of KMA staff at heart, therefore the introduction of the rotational system to help protect the KMA staff from COVID-19.
Dr. Ernest Kwarko, the facilitator of the workshop, who is also the Technical Advisor to the Metro Covid-19 Team, said urged the KMA staff to adhere to health protocols.
