“The construction works on the Kumasi Kejetia Central Market project should be ready by June 2024 as works are progressing steadily as planned”, he announced.
Speaking on Akoma FM on Tuesday, Sam Pyne said the ground works have been completed and the contractors have started erecting the structures for the market.
According to him, he was impressed about what has been happening at the construction site so far, reiterating that he was confident that the facility would be ready in 2024.
The Kumasi Mayor was of the opinion that the completion of the modern market project would, among other things, help to beautify the skyline of the famous Garden City.
Also, Sam Pyne said the completion of the second phase of the Kumasi Kejetia Central Market project would go a long way to help boost business activities in the city.
According to him, there would be available spaces for market women and men as well as those, who now ply their trade on the streets due to lack of available spaces.
Sam Pyne said he has plans to expedite the transformation of Kumasi so he entreated businessmen and politicians from the various political parties to support him to deliver.
“I cannot do it alone so I am passionately appealing to all-and-sundry to offer me the needed support and encouragement to lead our city into affluence”, he said.
The KMA Chief Executive also entreated residents of Kumasi, especially property owners, to constantly pay their property rate, saying “we need money to develop Kumasi”.
